Trip to Disney

Just came from a week-long vacation at Orlando, Florida with the family. We went visit Disney, Universal Studios, Sea World and Aquatica. It was a fun-filled vacation despite the July heat and the family had a blast. Years ago, when I was just a child, I saw a picture of the Disney park in one of the Seventeen magazines that my sister used to read. I told myself, I wish someday I would be able to visit this magical place. As I grow up I realized that life is not that easy, sometimes, when we wish about something, it don't mean it would come true. So I gave up silly dreams like the dream of going to Disney, I thought to myself it was just a silly childhood fantasy. As soon as I gave up and stopped believing, my dream came true. Now I tell me kids, if you have dreams, don't stop believing because like Walt Disney said; "Dreams Come True!".

My Princess

My little angel is growing fast. It seems like yesterday when I gave birth to her and now she's walking and reasoning like she's 25 years old. She brings laughter in the household everyday and sometimes drives me insane, but what can I do? She is growing and it's part of growing up. I am just enjoying every moment of it.

In the last week of July, we spent a week at Orlando, Florida to visit Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World and Aquatica. We all had a blast and for the first time, my little angel was able to visit the magical world of Disney. She dressed-up as a princess and she enjoyed every moment of it. As a mom, I am elated to see her enjoying herself. Despite the heat, we are all grateful that we are able to create memories with each other.

Getting a Degree Online

As a mother of two, I am a busy bee especially on school days. I know my kids come first but I also want to harness my ability by learning something as I go about my day to day chores. I have talked to my husband about getting an online degree and luckily he agreed. He said I should check out Walden University's online degree programs since his friend's wife just got a degree from them. DH said his friend recommends it since his wife is already hired and is on her way on building her career.

As I checked their site at WaldenU.edu, I found several courses that I would like to take. I will not be taking all of them but at least I have the top five courses to choose from. Hopefully DH would help me make up my mind and I will be able to enrol and soon. I am pumped to get something going while I am taking care of my family. That's why I like online schools a lot because I don't need to be away from my precious family.

I go back and forth between being a thrill seeker and a scaredy cat. Sometimes when I go to theme parks I'll go on the scariest and tallest roller coasters. But then other times I'm content to just spend time on indoor kiddie rides that are air conditioned. But we're going on vacation to Busch Gardens this summer and I'm determined to actually ride all of the coasters with the kids.

It was partly my idea to go on this trip so I've been looking up all kinds of information on the trip so that it will go as smoothly as possible. While I was looking at this stuff online, I ran across the site www.CLEARWIRELESSINTERNET4G.com and after I looked through it some I decided to change over our home internet service to it.

Learning How To Play Poker

I am not a gambler whether it's online or in the casino but I have friends who made a lot of money by playing poker online. Most of them are working during the day, and they play poker at night and on weekends, so whatever it is that they win while playing, it counts as their extra income. They have offered to teach me how to play but I am just not that interested right now. I might change my mind one day though.

I'm Ready for a Baby Boy

My little angel Fifi is finally two years old! She is still a baby in every way and in my heart but she has grown so much in the last two years. She is already potty-trained and she sleeps all through the night, so I am back to sleeping 6 to 8 hours a night straight. Did I say I sleep straight now? Almost every night? Oh yeah I did! I am just glad I'm over the phase where they wake up every two to four hours to be fed. But I miss those baby phase too, so I am thinking that perhaps it's about time to have another baby.

We now have two beautiful daughters but we still want to try so we would have a son. My husband is adamant in having someone take his last name through the generations to come. I am also in agreement to him because I came from a country where family is a big part of society. My sister-in-law just had a baby boy last year and she told me a trick about having a good chance of conceiving a baby boy. I am excited to try it and I am hoping that it works with me as it works with her. I can't wait to shop for boys clothes and blue and green room decorations. That's the best thing of being pregnant, the shopping!

Before we try to though, we have to make sure that we're both healthy. I have to go see my gynecologist for a check-up and DH has to see his doctor. We are not getting any younger so we have to take extra steps to make sure that we have a healthy baby.

Cheap Ink

I was about to print some pictures from our recent vacation when my printer said the most dreaded message. Warning! Color ink low, please take the time to order more ink. Ugh! If there's anything that I have a hard time finding, it's the ink for our old printer. The machine has been with us for many a years and it is still working like it's brand new, but since it's an old model, it's hard to look for printer ink.

I looked all over the place and even online for a site that still sells them and I finally bumped into the site that don't just sell the ink I need but all kinds of inkjet cartridges for all kinds of printers and models. It is pretty easy to navigate through the site and it even gives you the choice to shop according to brand. One best thing I liked was that they sell cheap ink and accepts all kinds of payment method. From paypal to credit card payment.

I immediately ordered my colored ink and had a very good experience shopping from them. I will definitely order there again even if I get a brand new printer. Sometimes the best deals we could have could be found by clicking just a few buttons in the keyboard.

Baking shows are always entertaining? I always think that I am going to lose my interest in these programs. I think the magic will wear off and I will suddenly stop finding the shows compelling in any way. However, this has not happened. If anything, my love of the baking shows has actually gotten stronger with each and every one of them that I see. I love each and every cooking show to death.

My absolute favorite baking show on television at the moment is The Best Thing I Ever Ate. I love to watch this show on my direct tv. The Best Thing I Ever Ate is a cooking show that does not offer much in the way of tricks and techniques the chefs on the show are so professional that they actually use cooking utensils that the regular amateur chef cannot get from the store. Sometimes, viewers can pick up something from them. The idea of this show is to spotlight the best foods that are available across the globe.

The Best Thing I Ever Ate is an incredible show that makes me remember why I love the baking show so much. The chefs on this show are so smart and so funny that they are a pleasure to watch. Every single week, I rush home to see what sort of exotic food is being featured on that week's episode.

Medical Scrubs

My sister is a registered nurse and she is so fond of wearing medical scrubs with different kinds of prints when she goes to work. She used to wear the regular white nursing outfit but she said that the scrubs are more comfortable to wear especially during long twelve-hour shifts. She asked me if I could send her some scrubs whenever I would send them the next balikbayan box, so I looked online for different kinds of scrubs.

I also went check our local walmart for their scrubs but all they offer are boring and regular-looking ones. I then searched for nursing scrubs uniform online and found a lot of really interesting and medical scrubs there is. It's like scrub paradise for those who wear them in a regular basis for work. I got carried-away that I bought a couple of pieces because I enjoyed shopping.

I will be sending them soon to my sister. As soon as I received them, I showed them to my sister through skype and she loved every one of them. She can't wait to wear them and I am glad that there are a lot of choices out there for people who wear scrubs almost everyday for a living.

Just a Thought

Having a car is a necessity here in America. In the country where I came from which is the Philippines, ninety percent of the people are just commuting using public utility vehicles and trains. My grandma, who lived for more than 70 years didn't own any kind of personal motor vehicle. If she needs to go anywhere, all she needs to do ride a jeepney or a bus.

Here in America, each household has an average of 2 cars. Teenagers as young as 15 years old already own their own car and almost everybody in the family old enough to get a driver's license most certainly have their own car too. I was driving in the road one day when I checked out the different cars that pass by me. There's a white subaru forester, a red mazda tribute and a gray BMW 1-Series. I was thinking to myself that it would not surprise me if there's a bentley that would pass by my mini van. That's just the lifestyle here, having a vehicle is as normal as having a house.

Perhaps people overdo it sometimes by getting the most expensive car possible just to show-off. And that's when the trouble starts for them. Their car is their source of pride and happiness. For me, as long as it runs and it keeps me comfortable, I am happy.

Prescription Glasses

My friend has been complaining of constant headaches for days. She said that there are even nights that she could not sleep because of the pounding pain in her head. I suggested that she have her eyes checked and true enough she is prescribed by the ophthalmologist to wear glasses. Now, she claims that all the headache is gone and that she had not slept as good as she is sleeping now.

I am blessed to have healthy eyes with a 20/20 vision. I know that I am not taking good care of them so I am open to the possibility that perhaps one day I would be wearing prescription glasses too. Good thing that glasses nowadays are more fashion forward than before. It comes in different colors, sizes and shapes to fit each individuals personality. It is now part of a fashion accessory and not just a solution to an existing problem.

I always thought my grandma looked funny with her large prescription glasses but now that I know I could get a better-looking one, I am not so worried about the possibility that I might need one someday.

Pony Ride

Last summer, my husband's niece had her 3rd birthday party. She had a pony in her party and all the kids took turns in riding it. My girls liked riding the ponies and it was also Fifi's first time to ride and pet a real pony. Unlike the other kids who were terrified, she was giddy and excited!

Have you heard of the term "muffin top"? To those who have heard it for the first time, it refers to the phenomenon, especially in women, where flesh spills over the waistline of the skirt or pants, just like a muffin. This is especially common to women who have given birth already and even to those who haven't yet.

The best way to get rid of this is by diet and exercise but there is one way of hiding it and that is by wearing the right undergarment. The Quest for the Ipod Touch

It is Black Friday today and you would not believe what people would do to get a discount on things. Stores are barricading their doors the day before to make sure that stampedes would be avoided. There was an incident last year in a Walmart store when a pregnant woman was literally stumped to death because of the Black Friday deals. Getting 50% percent off of anything is not worth it if you end up in the morgue.

Call us crazy but me and my husband woke up very early today to get a black Friday deal. As early as 4 a.m., we are up and ready to attack the crowd in the local walmart store. The kids are with grandma so they wouldn't be bothered by our crazy schedule and so they wouldn't see the stuff that we would get. If you are planning on getting presents for Christmas, Black Friday is the best day to do it.

And so we went to the store in hopes of getting the Ipod Touch that our daughter Andrea has been wishing to get for Christmas. She has been in the Principal's List (straight A grades) in the first quarters of the school year, so it's our way of rewarding her too. We were in line for about thirty minutes but we have been lucky because we got what we went there for. They have limited supplies of the Ipod Touch and they also offer it with a 50 dollar gift card, so the 30 minute wait was worth it after all. That's fifty dollars of free food or groceries for us.

We have been lucky but my SIL wasn't that lucky. She woke up a little late and when she went to the store, they ran out of the Ipod Touch already. She would just have to pay regular price for it without the gift card because the next Black Friday wont be until next year.

Lucky Plant

My friend from Pittsburgh sent me a lucky plant last week. I told her I would buy some lottery tickets right away, wishing that the plant would give me some kind of luck since it is called lucky plant. So far, I didn't win yet, but I will keep on buying tickets, maybe my time would come.

Getting a Christmas Present for my Godchild

This Christmas is my godchild's first Christmas and even if he is still too young to grasp the concept of it, I am still going out of my way to get something special for him. He is my first godchild here in the US and he is also my husband's nephew so that makes him extra special. He is also the second boy in the family of nine grandchildren.

I know his mom is getting him all that his heart desires but I will not let that dampen my mood of getting him something nice. I am a big fan of nice formal clothes for boys, especially the ones that would make them look like a little gentleman. I just think boys clothing that are like that are classy and super cute. I found a long-sleeved outfit that has a vest over it and a nice solid-colored pants to go with it. I'm sure he would look precious wearing it and I could not wait for him to try it on.

I can't wait to have a little boy myself, but for now, I will just make do with spoiling my godchild whom I consider my only son these days.

Maternity Clothes Can Be Sexy

The picture above is a picture of me while seven months pregnant with my youngest daughter Fifi. If there's anything that I like most about being pregnant is the fact that I could have a big belly and not have to worry about it. It is the one stage in my life that I could eat what I want, gain weight, and still look fabulous.

I love to show my big belly when I am pregnant. Good thing there are all kinds of stylish maternity clothes nowadays that celebrates pregnancy. There are also no rules about dressing up while pregnant, except ofcourse comfort. As long as I am comfortable, I wear it. I have jeans, I have shorts, I have stylish shirts and dresses that I mix and match while I was pregnant. Being able to dress up my belly really makes pregnancy more enjoyable.

Looking though my preggy pictures makes me want to go through it again. It is a joy to bring another human being into the world with style.

Enchanted Kingdom with my Family

One thing we did in the PI with my entire family is visit Enchanted Kingdom in Laguna. It is like a two-hour drive from Manila where we stayed for five days. The kids love the rides despite the heat and even the adults had a blast riding the big rides. It was my first time riding the roller coaster and it almost made me puke. I don't think I will ever ride another one unless I get paid a good amount of money for it.

Violence Against Women

As a woman, I am very grateful that there are laws that protects us from violence in whatever form it is. Mental, physical or verbal abuse are things that should be taken seriously and should be reported. A lot of women have been reported to be in an abusive relationship but they keep on coming back for some reason. I could not explain why they do it, but I feel that they could not help it. Psychologically they probably feel that abuse means attention, therefore it's part of a relationship.

I am just glad that I am not in that kind of relationship with my husband. But if you are, or somebody you know is being abused, there are a lot of organizations around that are ready to help you out. In the state of California, there is even a group of lawyers that are experienced in dealing with domestic violence cases. You could even find a sample of a San Diego Domestic Violence Case online and how the offender was put to jail.

To all women out there, please be mindful of your surroundings and do not hesitate to report any kind of abuse that you see. I know that some of you would just mind your own business and not get involved with other people's problems but what if it was your daughter or your sister? Would you want their friend or neighbor to report it? Ofcourse you would. Violence should never be tolerated wether it be against women, children or animals.

On Getting Bald

My dad is officially bald. He started to lose his hair when he was in his late thirties. He tried all kinds of herbal stuff from aloe vera plant to virgin coconut oil. Later on though, he was resolved to the idea that he will be bald so he just shaved his head and got comfortable with it. He is proud of being bald that he gained the nickname "opaw" which means bald in our native language.

Now, my husband is worried because he has receding hairline in his forehead. He don't want to get bald one day and so he thought about ways on how to fix his problem. I told him that my dad felt the same way back then when he started to get bald and later on just got used it. I also told him that I would love him no matter what and I jokingly said that it's probably true that girls always look for a husband that are in a way just like their daddy, because I found him and it seems like he's going to be bald like my dad. He is not laughing though.

Good thing there is affordable hair transplant available now. He is seriously considering it and I am not against it. Anything to make my husband happy, I am happy for him too because I know that if I am in that situation, he would do the same thing.

"Me" Time

Being a mother of two, one an eight-year-old and the a twenty-month-old, it gets pretty hectic. At night after putting my toddler to bed, it feels like the life was sucked out of me. Sometimes I feel like I have been through a marathon. My husband and I squeeze some alone time together after the kids go to bed, but it's really just a rest time for me where hubby massages my feet while we watch a recorded show on the DVR.

I have read on a motherhood magazine that having a "me" time is not being selfish, especially when you're so stressed-out. I then tried it one night by getting into the hot tub and just listening to some music. I felt so relaxed that I almost fell asleep in the tub. I felt so refreshed and relaxed that I did the same regimen the next day and the day after that. Now, it has become a daily thing to do for me. I call it my "me" time.

I am telling you that it helped me deal with the daily stress. It helped me release all the tension in my muscles and in a way made me a better mom and wife. It also made me feel like I have never neglected myself and in the process improved my self-confidence. It is so amazing how a little time I spend alone by myself, helped out in all aspects of my life.

I am a shoe person, but I am slowly discovering the beauty of handbags. It is my wish that someday, I will own a designer bag like prada or perhaps fendi. These brands are known for their tasteful designs and for being classics. They are also known for their versatility. Whatever you wear, these bags will always complete the look of your outfit.

Right now, I could not afford to buy any of the mentioned brands, but perhaps someday, I will own one. Even if I could not afford it yet, I never stopped myself from browsing through online shops that sells authentic designer bags like gucci. I would look at each of their designs and pick the ones that I believe I could own one day. There was a time that I printed one of the bags I like and clipped it in my desk to remind me of something to look forward to.

My daughter has gone crazy about the new game online that enables you to create your own monster and take care of it. She don't play with it everyday of course because she has to deal with her homework, but during weekends, she's ready to face the computer and make sure her monster is alright.

As I was browsing through the Internet, I found the moshi monsters cheats. It is of course a way of cheating the game, but it would help out my daughter so I will show it to her to help her take better care of her moshi monster. I will be honest with you, I am loving the game and I might end up playing it one day.

I have been losing weight since I gave birth a year ago. A lot of my friends have been asking me what was my secret and seriously, there's no secret about it. They say that to be able to get a six pack, one must work hard and earn it. I would love to have toned muscles in my abs but I don't have the time to do a thousand sit-ups a day. I got me a new ab belt and I hope after months of using it everyday, I would get to have 6 pack abs, or atleast a toner ab. Having given birth a year ago, I really complain a lot about my tummy. My target is that by next summer, I would be able to wear my swimsuit with just a little concern that my belly is flabby.

Christmas Outfit for Me

It's almost Christmas again. I am already thinking about our customary family picture every year and what outfit I should wear for it. I always make sure that our outfits coordinate so the picture would look nice and formal. Last year, we did a black and red color motif, this year I am not sure yet what color we would do. I always start with my outfit and then coordinate everybody's outfit with mine.

I am thinking about something formal like a blazer or a lady suit, but I am not sure yet. Looking online gave me a lot of ideas. Being short, I always have problems with getting the right length of pants for me, so mostly, I shop at specialty petite shops. If not, I just go to the local alteration shop and have them cut the outfit for me.

I'm hoping that before Thanksgiving Day, we would be able to take our pictures so it would be ready on the first week of December. I will probably have to cut on the budget for our outfits this year because I know that being trendy does not mean being expensive.

I lost my mom from cancer when I was eight years old so I grew up with my grandma and my dad as my parents. My grandma passed-away in 2008 so I only have my dad left in terms of parents. We have our differences back when I was growing up, but I have never lost an inch of love or respect for him. Now we are closer than we have ever been. I tell him all of my problems even if I am far away and he always listens, and gives me his sound advice everytime.

Todays marks his 50 something birthday. I wish him good health and happiness. I wish I could spend more time with him and I wish that God will give him more years with us. To my papa, I love you very much! And I am very sorry for all the heartaches and headaches I have caused you in the past.

I prefer to shop online than to go to stores nowadays. Getting a carharrt k225 is just a click of a button away. With kids in tow, I do admit that shopping is not as fun as it used to be. It is more like a chaos, especially with my toddler screaming and yelling everytime she sees a doll she wants to play with. Last time I went shopping in a store was to look for a duofold varitherm, and before I get to find one, I have to leave because my toddler started her tantrum.

Last week, I bought a new pair of rain boots online and from then on I decided that any kind of shopping except for groceries would be done online. I got the product I wanted without wasting gas in three days. I didn't have a headache from hearing my toddler scream because she wants a doll or a princess outfit. It is way easier to shop online in my situation than to go to the store.

Another thing about shopping online is that I don't get tempted to get something else that was not planned. If I go to the mall, I always come home with an extra item that I never thought I would get before going there. Yes, I spend money for shipping but it's not as expensive as getting something extra that was just bought on a whim.

My sister-in-law gave birth to her 3rd child who happens to be her last (she got her tubes tied right after because of 3rd cesarean section). The baby is also her only son, and the second boy in the family of eight grandchildren. I was surprised when she chose me to be the godmother of Nicholas Tobias because he is a special gift that my SIL has been praying for. It is a big deal to be the godmother here since each baby can only have one godmother and one godfather, unlike in the Philippines that you could get as many as you like. I know she got a B in Language but I am not complaining, she did her best and that's all that matters. I am so proud of her that I am thinking of getting an online tutor to help her get ready for 4th grade math and Adding fractions. They won't tackle these topics until next year, so I have plenty of time to think about it and talk to her if she's open to the idea. I make sure that I ask her opinion about certain things especially when it has something to do with her studies. But of course my decision will prevail. It's not that she needs any more help but it is always better to have some kind of guide. Wow! It's Almost Christmas Again

It seemed like we just celebrated Christmas yesterday and now we're less than a hundred days from celebrating it again. My daughter is not complaining, she knows that Christmas means lots of presents for her, but I am freaking out. Christmas means that our pockets would empty out again and I have to look for presents for the kids starting now.

It does feel good to hear the kids squeal in delight when they open their presents but my most favorite thing about Christmas is planning our yearly family portrait that we send to family and friends together with a Christmas card. This year, instead of having a picture and a Christmas card in the envelope, I will just infuse them by making a Christmas card using our family picture. Unlike Andrea who is so boyish, Fifi is my girly-girl. Just as much as Andrea likes video games, Fifi loves to play with her dolls. Andrea's choice of clothes is a simple pair of jeans and t-shirt, Fifi on the other hand would not wear anything unless you tell her it's a dress for a princess. Andrea does not like princess costumes while Fifi walks around the house all day with princess costumes, or sometimes with a fairy's wings.

Andrea would probably go to school without brushing her hair, while Fifi is so conscious about her appearance so much so that I have to hide my make-up from her or else the picture below will happen.

Hubby Needs a New Wardrobe

Ever since hubby injured his knee, and got honorably-discharged from the United States Marines as result of the said injury, he has been gaining weight. It all started because he could not walk for a couple of months, and when he started walking with crutches, he was still not allowed to get into any kind of exercise. By the time he was able to walk normally, and got his federal job, he was already sixty pounds overweight.

Recently though he has been losing weight and I am more proud of him more than he is proud of himself. He is not quiet there yet, but he is doing the effort and that's all that matters. As a sign of my pride I looked for new dress pants and suits for him. And since it's almost winter, I am also thinking of getting him a whole new set of winter outfits.

The pants he used to wear are now loose so I know that it wont take long before he needs his complete wardrobe refurbished.

Looking for a Bigger House

Since we plan on having more kids, hubby and I talked about moving to a bigger house. The present home we're living in is big enough for a family of four and if we add another kid, we would be literally crowded. There is no definite date when we are going to get a new home, all I know is that it is part of our five-year plan. We are hoping that if everything goes well, we would be able to sell this house and then get a new home right after.

We have been house-hunting for a while and one of the things I look in a house is the kitchen and bathrooms. I like kitchens that have back-splash tiles in the counter and I also love bathroom tiles that are modern. I have seen a lot of houses that are great but the bathroom has turned me off. There was a house I saw once that have the prettiest subway tiles in the master bathroom. It was perfectly arranged around the walk-in shower area. That was my dream bathroom, but the rest of the house was not what we wanted.

Right now, we are paying as much bills as we could so we won't have a hard time paying for a new mortgage someday. We are not in a hurry to move but it's part of the plan so someday it will eventually happen.

Getting married is a lifetime commitment. Planning a wedding though is a different story. It requires a lot of time, effort and of course money, to make a wedding successful. From the venue to the invitations to the Wedding Favors, it all requires meticulous planning and budget.

There are Cheap Wedding Favors though that you could find online to help stay within budget. On my wedding, we bought cheap figurines of the natives of the Philippines dancing the national dance of Tinikling. It was made of hardened volcanic ashes. Giving a Wedding Favor is not really that big in America, but in the Philippines, wedding favors are always part of the wedding and there are times when the favors are as expensive as a new pair of shoes of a new purse.

After three weeks of vacation in the Philippines, I am so glad to be back to my humble home. I love the Philippines and it's tropical weather but nothing I belong to America now and this is my home. The moment I got inside the house, It feels like I just started breathing again. The familiar smell of the house, the soft cushion of the couch and even the small kitchen I cook at everyday is a welcome sight for me.

I remembered the first time I moved here. It was a typical bachelor's pad with the minimum amount of furniture inside. My husband has a comfortable recliner, a small table and a bed. I was shocked to see how bare the place is, so I decided to furnish it and give it a woman's touch. We purchased a new sofa set, a dining set, curtains in every window and venetian blinds to keep our privacy. After months of purchasing here and there, I finally managed to make the bachelor's pad look like a home sweet home.

As our family is growing, we are contemplating on moving to a bigger house. It might be a perfect time to do it with the housing market like it is now but I will definitely miss this home. This is where we built our family and it would always have a space in my heart.

Getting my Blog Going

My long hibernation is about to be over, thanks to my dear daughter Fifi for finally allowing me to have a little time in front of the computer. As you see, she's growing real fast and the older she gets the more she wants to have my undivided attention. Of course, it's not a hard decision for me to choose between my daughter and my blog. But I missed my friends here and I hope I am still welcome.

I started blogging a year ago in the hopes of earning extra income. I got that. I also did it to meet new friends. I did that too. Now, I am trying to get back in touch with them because I missed a lot. Blogging is really a good tool to meet people around the world. It has done me nothing but positive things. I am encouraging my friends who haven't blogged yet to start doing it. And one in particular is Sommer, my friend in the Philippines. She's looking for a good web hosting provider available for her blog. I am trying to assist her in every way I could, just like my friends here helped me when I just started.

Hopefully she'll get started soon and hopefully I will continue to have more time to blog now. It really all depends on my little Fifi, if she lets me or not.

Multiple Sclerosis

I have heard a lot about it but I really don't understand what it is. Multiple Sclerosis is a serious disease that attacks mostly women of younger age. I started reading about it and for some reason I got scared because I belong to the the "mostly" affected part of the population. Multiple Sclerosis or commonly known as MS affects the the nervous system and impairs its functions. It is scary because until now, there is no known cure for the disease.

MS treatment attempts to return function or atleast fix the damage caused by an attack. There are drugs that are available but it could have adverse effects on the individual. There are also alternative treatments available, like doing the Multiple Sclerosis Diet. Multiple Sclerosis, I found out is a word that means multiple lesions or scars in the brain tissue and in the spinal cord. Symptoms of the disease include fatigue, loss of sensitivity, tingling and numbness, muscle weakness, speech impairment and even emotional symptoms of depression or unstable mood. And the list goes on and on.

I have to be honest, after reading some informations about the disease, I got a little worried. As a mother, I would like to stay healthy as I can for my kids. Perhaps I need to have myself checked next week just to be sure.

Going Bananas in the Banana Boat Ride

One of the things I wanted to do while in the Philippines was make sure my family have the most fun they could ever have. If there's anything more I want, it's to see them all happy even for just a while. This is my family's first time to ride the banana boat and sure enough, it brought lots of smile to their faces. The pictures above are priceless. You could tell that we're all having a blast like it's nobody's business.

Since the banana boat only carries six persons and we are more than that, we decided to take turns. While me and hubby are driving the jet ski, my brother and his wife rode the banana boat. And after 15 minutes, we switched.

One of the things that I could never leave the house without is Lipgloss. I could have the messiest hair and the simplest shirt but as long as I have something on my lips like a nice-colored Lipstick or a shiny lipgloss, I feel like I am ready to face the world. I even read an article in a fashion magazine recently that for mothers like me, a pair of sunglasses and lipgloss is all it takes to look chic while bringing your kid to soccer practice or to school for that matter.

Every winter, I make sure I have Lip Lacquer in my purse to fight off cracked lips caused by the weather. So now that it's fall, I am ready to shop for new lip shiners. I am crazy about my lips that my husband would sometimes joke around saying that I spoil my lips more than I spoil him. But still he's glad because if it's not expensive purses of expensive jewelry that I am crazy about.

One thing I hate so much when I was in college was writing the thesis. I know that somehow I would have to write one to pass. I have been dreading it and sure enough when it is time to write one, I have to employ the help of my genius classmates and friends to help me out. It's been awhile since I have been to college yet I could still remember the hardships I have to go through just to maintain my Department of Science and Technology scholarship. Since they pay for my tuition, uniform and books, I have to give them a satisfactory grade. Many sleepless nights and mind-boggling home works and thesis later, here I am writing a blog and staying at home taking care of my two beautiful kids. I have no regrets, but I wished I found some dissertation sample to help me make my thesis.

One thing I hate so much back then was dissertation writing. I am an engineering major so writing is not really what I could call my forte. The students now are very lucky to have all kinds of help that they could find online. They could also find help in their master's degrees later at masterpapers.com. Back then when I was in school, the only Internet and computer I could get my hands on was at our computer class.

With all the help that student get now online, there is really no reason for them not to get good grades. Getting though college now with flying colors is much easier than before. I have used all kinds of creams in the market to keep my face smooth and shiny. I am prone to break-outs because I usually don't get enough sleep. I am a confessed shoe addict and I know I have to do something about it or else, I would have to cook my shoes one day to feed my family. I am doing a good job though in stopping myself from purchasing any more shoes for a couple of months. I would just satisfy myself by browsing through different sites and drooling over the wonderful shoes they have to offer.

I came through a shoe site recently while I was looking for hunter boots. It's cute and very fashionable if worn with a skirt. I was looking for more boots when I found the heavenly leather that fiorentini & baker boots has to offer. I especially love the red ones that has a buckle on the side. I used to be a high-heeled boots kinda gal but ever since seeing these flast yet fashionable boots in magazines, it really sparked some interests in me.

Just the other day I was drooling over the jeffrey campbell shoes that I saw online especially the 70's inspired clog. It is very hip yet very sexy. I hope someday I win the lottery so i could get all the shoes that I like.

Shopping Online for Hubby

Shopping is one of my favorite hobbies. It's like a therapy whenever I feel depressed. But with the current economy, I have to just do my shopping online since it saves me gas, it also saves me from spending money to eat while I'm out and most of all, it saves me from seeing something I like and end up buying even if it's not part of the plan.

Recently, I shopped for my husband online and found his work pants which is the Carhartt B11. He likes it and he said he wants two more pair to have some spare pants. I also got him a new Levi's 514 Slim online and I was crossing my fingers that it would fit him perfectly. Thank goodness that when it arrived, it fit my husband like it was tailored just for him. Phew, I was relieved.

One downside about online purchases is that it don't fit sometimes, you can't try it on, and the colors in the pictures are sometimes off. But it is very convenient and the pros outweighs the cons big time. Right now as I am writing this, I am thinking of getting some Color Underwear for my dear hubby.

Going to a Halloween party for us girls requires a lot of planning. The costume itself needs to be meticulously chosen and the make-up to go with it needs to be prepared. Now that I have kids, I don't go to Halloween events that much but I am still spending a lot of time in making sure that my kids have the perfect costume and that they enjoy it.

As early as now, I am already thinking about my kids' costumes and of course I squeeze a little research about what I would want to wear as well. As I get older, I got very particular about my health. I used to not care about what I eat or if I am getting enough sleep for. I don't care if I am getting enough nutrients or if I am exercising. But after I hit the age of 27, I started freaking out. I have the false notion that I wouls stay young forever. When I hit that age, I thought, uh-oh, I will be 30 soon and before I know it, I would start to have wrinkles and saggy everything. I need to start doing something for myself.

Together with my hubby, I started to hit the gym regularly. I also started to eat right. I ate healthy and I learned a lot of things about taking care of my body. It's summer! Are you all ready for the beach? I am not but I am trying still to get the bikini body. Well, not really a bikini body because I most of the time just wear one-piece swimsuits, but you know what I meant. Me and hubby have been going to the gym since April. Although it's not regularly, it still helps us get into shape.

I remember the first time I went to the gym, I was shocked to see the seemingly big muscled body builders there. My husband explained that they were using muscle steroids to make their muscles big. They also eat a lot of protein everyday to help them build more muscles. I was a little scared that if I keep on weight training, I might look like them. But my husband assured me that I wont.

Well I hope I get to have a more toned body so I would look good in my bikini this summer.

Asian hair are mostly thick and shiny but there are times when our hair just don't seem to cooperate with us. I have problems with my hair as well and through research online, I found ways to help me manage it especially during the bad hair days.

Keeping hair clean is of course the basic thing to do. But we have to make sure that the product we use would not cause any harm to our hair. I have a friend who just filed for bankruptcy. They owned rental properties and when the economy crashed, they could not pay for the mortgage in their properties. Their credit card bills are piling-up so they decided to just file for bankruptcy to save themselves.

I am very particular about the clothes I wear. Call it whatever you like, but I always like to be fashionable no matter what season it is. Looking for a job nowadays is harder than usual. There are more people losing their jobs and being laid-off than people being hired. It's a shame because the needs of those people are constant and not having a job means not being able to buy groceries and not being able to pay the bills.

Even if the situation is not that inviting right now, I am still gonna try to look for a job. I looked online for jobs and I found a lot of job hiring. It is a surprise because with the current economy, I really thought that jobs would be scarce. It just proves that if you just look hard enough, you would find all kinds of things, including jobs. I already drafted my resume from a site online and hopefully I get hired.

Job hunting is not easy that's why I will make sure that when I get hired someday, I would do everything to make sure that I keep it. The only way to do it is to love what you do and realize the benefits it's giving you.

My Daughter's First Communion

My daughter Andrea just had her first communion on the first week of May. It is a sacrament practiced by roman catholics around the world. It's her first time to receive the holy Eucharist and after months of learning it's importance and it's symbolism, she was able to receive it at a solemn ceremony at our church.

As parents, hubby and I made sure that our daughter would be able to live their lives according to Jesus' ways. We are tasked to make sure that we raise our kids in a Godly way and so far we are proud that our daughters are taking it graciously. We hope that we raise them good enough so when they become parents themselves, they would teach their kids about Jesus as well.

Building His Own Computer

My husband loves to play games online, so he made sure that the computer he uses to play is well-equipped with the latest and the best stuff. He built his own computer and loaded it up with all kinds of craziness. Craziness for me because I don't know anything about computers... He bought a bigger memory card for it, fans to cool off the system and top of the line computer video cards.

He said he needs all of that to make sure that his game won't be interrupted because his system could not handle it. I was thinking to myself like, "You have to do all that just to play a game that you pay monthly subscription to?", but I better keep my mouth shut because he might say something about my shoe addiction.. LOL... Anyway, it's no big deal for me, that's his passion and I am grateful that I don't have to deal with alcoholism, cigarettes, gambling or worse women... LOL.. I am a very lucky woman.

As a wife and mother, my family depends on me on almost everything with regards to the house. My husband don't know what are the stuff he needs to get at the grocery store without me, he couldn't even find his own stuff if it saves his life. My daughters depends on me on literally everything, especially my toddler who seems to know how to do all kinds of mess. My older daughter especially needs my help for her homework and reading logs.

So I need to be always healthy to keep my family going. There was a time that I got so sick, and the house literally became a chaos. I have to force myself to get up and do chores while my husband was at work. Good thing I have a very nice mother-in-law who helped me with the kids. I have thick, course, asian hair, and I get a lot of compliments with it but my hair wasn't like that before. No matter how much conditioner I put in my hair, it still has frizz on it and it get's into my nerves. I tried all kinds of hair products and no improvement happend. I even bought the most expensive hair iron ever to help me get rid of the frizz but what it did was destroy my hair because of the heat.

I am not a purse person. If anything, I am more of a shoe person. I probably own less than ten purses compared to my fifty plus pairs of shoes in my name. You know why? I'll let you in on a secret, my husband loves me wearing different kinds of shoes! Ain't that awesome?! Lolz... If there's a pair of shoes that I like, I don't need to beg him to get it for me, as long as it's within our budget of course! And if not, (yes, I own a few pairs with a hefty price tag), he saves for it, or worse gets an extra job on the side just to get it for me.. I am such a lucky girl! Wink!!

But on our anniversary, he got me something I wasn't expecting to get. He actually got me a new coach purse and a wallet to go with it! I have been wanting to get another coach purse, and I am so delighted to finally have it! I love couch because it is really sturdy and stylish. It's not a high-end purse like Chanel or Prada but it is a good purse. My other one was a couple of years old and until now, it still looks nice and intact. It is also a good investment because you could resell it if you want. Maybe just in eBay but there are people out there who would actually buy a used purse!

I know it is a title of a song but it's really what's going on with my life now. It's a bad crazy though, it's just crazy. With a toddler walking around now in the house, messing with everything that she could reach and pushing all kinds of buttons on whatever electronic stuff she gets her hands on, I tell, it's really crazy!

Like they said, careful what you wish for! And months ago I was wishing that my little girl would learn how to walk so she could cruise around better. Now, I got what I wished for, I am wishing she'll stay 2 months old and just sleep all day.. Ohh, those were the days when I could take a nap whenever I want.

I am happy though and despite the craziness, my little toddler manages to cheer me up with her antics, She coiuld dance and she could sing now, not with understandable lyrics but ofcourse with babbles that is just so cute to listen to. My bigger daughter on the other hand is a very helpful big sister. She learned how to try hotdogs and make a bottle of milk for her sister. It's a blessing that I have her to help me out.

Even though I am living la vida loca, I am still blessed and everyday, I always thank God for everything.

Are you a cat-lover? I am and in all honesty, I would prefer to have a cat as a pet than a dog. A cat is way cleaner and costs way less when it comes to maintenance. We used to have a cat named Imee and she's adorable. We left her home for 3 days and she was able to take care of herself pretty good. We left enough food and water for her and all she did was wait in the window for our return.

Sometimes I have trouble going to sleep at night. It all started when I gave birth to Fifi, she would wake me up at strange hours to get fed and that messed up my sleep clock. It is very annoying because I have to be up all day to take care of her and it just makes me feel like I am a walking zombie during the day.

Today marks the first day of spring and I am excited as ever! I can't wait to plant some flowers in our window boxes. I already purchased some fertilized soil and some seeds at walmart to plant when it's warm enough. For right now, the weather is still a little crazy and some days, it's still chilly.

I could not wait to see some leaves in the trees and flowers around me again. A world full of color is way better than a dull world of brown and white.

Stress Reliever

As a mom of two, I am constantly on the edge everyday. Taking care of my kids and my husband is not an easy job. Having a very active infant does not help a bit. Especially now that she's walking, I have to follow her all over to make sure she don't get into things that would hurt her. Taking care of my husband is also not easy. He's the one who brings home the bacon, so to say, so I make sure that he gets pampered when he's at home.

The stress level I feel every now and then is to the maximum level that I would do stuff that are proven stress relievers . I do yoga every now and then with meditation. I also pray when I feel like I am about to explode. I would treat myself to a relaxing warm bath every night so I could wake-up the next day feeling refreshed.

My job as a mom and wife is pretty stressful but at the end of the day, when everything's all said and done, I would look at my family and I would never trade them for anything. Even if it's a less-stressful life.

Bedroom Furniture

When our house got flooded, most of our furnitures got water damage. Good thing we had a good flood insurance, we were able to get enough money to pay for a new set of bedroom furnitures. We found a solid, Ashley Furniture set at Sam's for a good deal and so we hurried and rented a truck at a one way truck rentals near Sam's.

We brought the furniture home and dropped off the truck we rented at a rental area near us. It was convenient and we are now enjoying the furniture everytime we go to sleep.

Asthma Problem

Debt Consolidation

With the economy going as it is now, a lot of people are struggling to pay their bills. we are not an exception of that and last year we made a very important decision to straighten up our finances. With credit card interest rates going up the roof, it is not healthy to keep them open, so what we did was cut them off and made a firm agreement that if we can't buy it cash, don't buy it at all.

We looked for a bank that offers debt consolidation loans and we tried to apply for it. But they are asking for so many documents so we looked for an alternative debt consolidation. That was the best thing we ever did and it made our finances and our credit score sky rocket. We are still paying for our debt consolidation loan but it is in a way lower interest rate than credit cards and more money is going to the principal than to the interests. We assumed that if we keep on going like this, we will be debt-free in 3 years and our lives would be way better that it ever was.

Valentine Present

I have been very busy lately for Fifi's birthday party that I almost forgot about getting something for my husband on Valentine's Day! I am still crossing my fingers and praying for the perfect weather on that day and I do believe that it would all come out well. I didn't realize that as much as it is Fifi's birthday celebration , it is also the day of the hearts and I have to get something special for my sweetheart.

He asked me to buy him the whole Saints Football Team gear which includes an NFL Championship baseball cap, a T-shirt, a towel and a DVD showcasing the best 3 games of the Saints during the season. I already ordered it for him but it won't arrive on time because it is back-ordered. So I thought of getting him a pair of running shoes since he desperately needs a new pair. It hasn't been a year since I got him the shoes he's wearing now, it was my present for him on Father's day last year and now it looks like he's been wearing the same shoes for fifteen years...

Anyway I will have to figure out when I will have the time to get the shoes for him since I am still busy until now. I am also gonna order a Fruit Basket for my in-laws this valentine's day as a sign of appreciation for all the support and love they have for me and our family. They have been awesome and as a matter of fact my father-in-law will cook gumbo and has already told me that he's buying the hotdogs and hamburgers for Fifi's birthday party.

Space Jump For A Party

To all my friends who have been wondering when is Fifi's party, it will be on February 14, Valentine's Day! She was not born on that day, she was born three days before valentines, on the 11th at exactly 7:26 a.m. It's funny because I am scheduled come to the hospital that day for induction since I am one week overdue but Fifi won't have it. She decided to release the hormones which would make my body have contractions the day before. Andrea did the same thing to me. She decided to come two days before my scheduled induction. Or it might just be me.. LOL.. Mentally, I am scared of being induced that's why I my body decided to have the contractions out of fear... I don't know really...

Anyway, hubby and I decided to have a barbeque party outside with a space jump for the kids. We already called the local people for reservations. Hopefully like I always said, it won't rain... Her space jump don't look like this one, it is open with a slide on it. I just can't find the picture of the one we have reserved. I will post some pictures after her birthday party...

I apologize once again to all my friends who have been expecting my visits to their site. One of the perks of being a mom is the stress relating to the preparation of birthday parties for our precious kids and right now, I am very stressed. I welcome it though because I would love to celebrate the 1st year of Fifi's existence. It's my way of thanksgiving to God for giving us a healthy & beautiful baby and for keeping her safe and healthy all year through.

Part of my preparation is looking for a birthday outfit for her. I also made an appointment for her studio portrait, to capture her first year here on earth. I will post her studio pic once it's ready but right now, I will show you her birthday outfit...

The Glastonbury Festival is a famous British Festival that consists of performances from various artists and singers. It is celebrated in a big venue and most of the time, this venue has 12 stages or more. This festival is like woodstuck in a sense that it goes on for days and people camps in the venue while artists perform in the stage. To make sure that nobody pees everywhere, the Green Police is called.

The Green Police makes sure that the environment is protected by giving leaflets full of information on how to respect mother nature while on the festival. They constantly remind the people attending the festival where to properly dispose their trash.

If you're wondering how I get clothes to match them, it's simple. I am tiny so whenever I shop for Andrea, she gets size 7 and I get the biggest size for her department which is size 16.. lol... In short, when we match clothes, I am actually shopping from the kid's section... lol...

I like putting on make-up but most of the time, I want it to be just neutral. I don't want to look like I'm wearing a mardi gras mascara on my face or look like a clown. So I am a big fan of natural-looking make-up. Where do i get make-up ideas? Ofcourse youtube! I would watch it and try doing it until I feel like I copied it right. First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit

It's time to file for taxes again. This time we will be able to claim Fifi and also claim all the hospital bills that we paid for her birth. I am hoping that we will get a bigger tax return this year compared to last year. Almost half of my husband's paycheck is taken as income tax. We hope that we would get back atleast half of what we paid into the system.

We file our taxes online through turbotax and so far we're getting good returns. This year though, we're thinking of getiing somebody's services to file it for us. The money we give to the church is credited, the renovations in our house is credited and a new car is also credited. For married couples who just bought a house, they could benifit from the First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit, they would get a whopping $8,000 back. That means those of who who just bought your home from 3 years ago, you could benifit from this.
