The Quest for the Ipod Touch

It is Black Friday today and you would not believe what people would do to get a discount on things. Stores are barricading their doors the day before to make sure that stampedes would be avoided. There was an incident last year in a Walmart store when a pregnant woman was literally stumped to death because of the Black Friday deals. Getting 50% percent off of anything is not worth it if you end up in the morgue.

Call us crazy but me and my husband woke up very early today to get a black Friday deal. As early as 4 a.m., we are up and ready to attack the crowd in the local walmart store. The kids are with grandma so they wouldn't be bothered by our crazy schedule and so they wouldn't see the stuff that we would get. If you are planning on getting presents for Christmas, Black Friday is the best day to do it.

And so we went to the store in hopes of getting the Ipod Touch that our daughter Andrea has been wishing to get for Christmas. She has been in the Principal's List (straight A grades) in the first quarters of the school year, so it's our way of rewarding her too. We were in line for about thirty minutes but we have been lucky because we got what we went there for. They have limited supplies of the Ipod Touch and they also offer it with a 50 dollar gift card, so the 30 minute wait was worth it after all. That's fifty dollars of free food or groceries for us.

We have been lucky but my SIL wasn't that lucky. She woke up a little late and when she went to the store, they ran out of the Ipod Touch already. She would just have to pay regular price for it without the gift card because the next Black Friday wont be until next year.
