Sweets For New Year!

Since I am sick, I just bought some Filipino ice cream so we could have some sweets for our media noche... Aside from the fruits, it is a filipino tradition to have sweets and sticky food in the table when we welcome the new year. New year celebration is very different here so the filipino-flavored ice creams would atleast help me reminisce the new year celebration we do back at home...

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

From Our Family!!!

Beautiful Hair

All women wants to have beautiful hair. It has been a standard that beautiful hair means shiny and smooth hair, no split-ends and no dandruff. I remember back then that my grandma would use grated coconut milk in my hair to keep it shiny and smooth. My sister also used mayonnaise in her hair to make it look healthy. I'm sure other women out there has different ways of keeping their hair nice and healthy.

I looked online for hair products and I found out about nu skin hair products. It has very good reviews from the people that used them before and I am thinking of trying it. It got me intrigued because as I read about their products, specifically the hair fitness treatment, I found out that they are using sea-weeds to help revitalize our hair. it's all natural ingredients and environmentally-friendly.

If I ever get the chance to try their product, I would definitely write a post about it here and let you all know how good it is.

Bleed For Fashion

I am just like any other ordinary woman, I love fashion. If I could afford it, I buy the latest trends and follow the latest haircut or make-up style. I wear high-heels even while pregnant (up until the 9th month), just so I could feel like I'm still hot and sexy.. LOL.. Sometimes fashion ain't comfortable though, so whenever I am uncomfortable especially with too high shoes, I would just tell myself, bleed for the sake of fashion b*tch! LOL...

My daughter Andrea is not like me, if anything she's like her dad. She loves computers and video games. She loves to help her dad hammer some sheet rack or wash the car. She is happy with jeans, t-shirt and tennis shoes. Recently though, she is starting to get conscious with what she wears, or how I fix her hair, or if her shoes matches her outfit. Hmmm... That's a good sign.. It's time for me to take charge.. So what did I do? I went to old navy, bought a total of $130 bucks worth of outfits (thanks to my paid-posts) and begged hubby to get her 3 pairs of shoes. I know, I just got carried-away because this is the first time she showed interest in girly stuff. Infact, when I was looking for christmas outfits, she specifically chose the beautiful red dress that she wore on my other blog.

When we went take our family picture at the studio, I ironed her hair and she didn't object about it. She just said it's hot, and guess what I told her, "you have to learn to bleed for fashion sweetie...". LOL... I didn't burn her, just to let you all know.. She wasn't hurt or anything.... LOL.. After ironing her hair, she loved the way it looks and she said she looks pretty.. Yay! I'm loving this! I have always wanted a sassy daughter to dress-up with and go shopping with, now I think I have her... And every now and then I would ask her, what do girls need to do to be beautiful? She would answer this all the time with... "Girls need to bleed for fashion mommy!!"

The Quest For Red Shoes

I have been looking for red shoes to match our christmas outfits this year and I thought it would be easy to do so. Ding!.. Wrong answer... I have been to the shoe department, 2 walmarts, 3 payless shoe stores, 2 targets, 2 jcpennys, and 1 K-mart before I found the shoes for me, Andrea and Fifi...

I bought mine from Aldo's.. I told myself I won't spend much for this year's outfit but I can't help it, when I see a pair of shoes I like, I just lose all kinds of reason... I'm a shoe addict and I know I need some kind of intervention before it gets out of hand... LOL.. I had a hard time looking for Andrea's shoes as well, I even bought a pair that's one size smaller than she wears, hoping that she would fit it and when it didn't fit, I have to return it to the store. It would have been alright but that particular store don't give you your money back, they just give you store credit... And stupid me, didn't read the sign in the counter before buying the shoes, so I have to get something from the store (not a pair of shoes, since they don't have her size) just so I would get my money back... Finally though, after spending $45 extra in that fancy boutique, getting a smock dress just to use the store credit, I found her pretty red shoes at stride rite. Fifi's shoes was the cheapest and the easiest one to find... Costing me $9 from payless, which is good since I know 2 months from now, she won't be able to fit it anymore.

Since I spent almost $200 just for our shoes, I might as well show them to all of you to see... So here are our red shoes for the holiday season...

Celebrity Haircut...

For those of you looking for a new trend in celebrity hairstyles this season one of the hottest hairstyles making a comeback is the updated bob. No longer the boring straight hairstyle of the past this new favorite has a fresh new look with lots of options.

From Paris Hilton's smart, chin length version to Sienna Miller's pixie-like crop many of the once flowing celebrity hairstyles are getting short and sassy.

The best part of this new hairstyle is that it is so versatile that there's literally a version for everyone. Have a long face shape? A chin length bob with bangs will give the illusion of width. Alternately, if you have a wide face you should opt for a longer version of this style that sits below the chin.

If you're afraid a bob is too boring for you don't forget that this style does not have to be one length. If you prefer a more glamorous version of this celebrity hairstyle you can always have your stylist incorporate long layers, like Charlize Theron's version of this hairstyle. This gives you the versatility to either use large rollers for some soft waves or flip up the ends for a totally different take on a tried and true hairstyle.

How To Have Beautiful Skin

A regular cleansing routine can help you get in the habit of cultivating good skin health. Part of putting together a good routine is choosing the skin care products that work best for you.

Once you have navigated through the skin care aisle and found products that work for you, come up with a daily regimen that consists of cleansing, exfoliating, toning and moisturizing:

Cleansing: Choose a skin care product for your specific skin type --- dry, oily, combination or normal. Wash in a circular motion with lukewarm water to retain the skin’s moisture.

Exfoliation: Granular products are best for this procedure to help scrub off all of the dead skin cells, allowing for maximum skin moisturizing. Good exfoliating procedures will also help smooth any rough areas of the skin.

Tone: A toner will help tighten skin and remove any remaining dirt or cleanser residue. At this stage, you can also opt for a facial mask, but refrain from doing this daily --- once a week is most effective.

Moisturize: After completing the toning process, pat your skin dry with a towel. Do not dry up all of the moisture on your face; pat softly. Apply a moisturizer (preferably with sunscreen) to keep skin from getting dry. If you have oily skin, you do not have to moisturize every day; instead try to moisturize three times a week.
